The Brothers of Holy Cross

"I always joke that if I joined Holy Cross today I wouldn’t last because one of the things I treasure most about Holy Cross is that group of men that I met in Ghana. Those were pioneering days for them. They were men who were dedicated, men who were committed, men who were not afraid to get their hands dirty. They would teach in the classroom, but once class was over you can be with them… they were always there to be of service."

Brother Joe Tsiquaye, C.S.C.
Former Novice Master, Blessed Brother Andre Novitiate, Ghana

NovitiateUpon completing the first year of formation, the candidate applies for admission to the novitiate.

The novitiate is a collaborative program for all Holy Cross brother and priest novices in the United States. During this spiritual year, you would be further educated and trained in styles of prayer and meditation, in the skills necessary for living the vowed life in common, in apostolic service, and in the knowledge of the history, spirituality, character and mission of Holy Cross.

At the end of the novitiate, you would make temporary vows of poverty, celibacy and obedience for a period of one year.
