Brothers of Holy Cross Bring Hope to
National Catholic Youth Conference
20,000 Catholic high school students gathered in Kansas City
“Twenty thousand Catholic high school students on fire with their faith,” posted Bro. Jonathan Beebe, CSC from Kansas City, Missouri, host of this year’s National Catholic Youth Conference, the largest single gathering of Catholic youth in the United States. More than 20,000 teenagers from all parts of the country, along with adult leaders, parents, and numerous religious congregations including Brothers of Holy Cross gathered from November 19-21 for three days of prayer, catechesis and celebration. The event also featured a multitude of workshops for youth and youth leaders.
“The energy and enthusiasm in Kansas City was powerful! I was very impressed by the faith of the students. They were definitely proud to be Catholic and looking for ways to live out their Christian faith. When I asked them about how they bring hope to others in the places where they live, each one told me a story about helping those who are poor or volunteering their time to work with a local charity. All of them had a great desire to transform the world – and I truly believe that they will do it,” said Bro. Jonathan Beebe, CSC, Director of Vocations.
