Mission of
Holy Cross
As
disciples of Jesus we stand side by side with all people...Thus,
wherever through its superiors the congregation sends us we go
as educators in the faith to those whose lot we share...Christ
has anointed us to bring good news to to the poor, release for
prisoners, sight for the blind, restoration for every broken victim...We
stand with the poor and afflicted, because only from there can
we appeal as Jesus did for the conversion and deliverance of all.
For
many of us in Holy Cross, mission expresses itself in education
of youth in schools, colleges and universities. For others, our
mission as educators takes place in parishes and other ministries.
And, as in every work of our missions, we find that we stand to
learn much from those whom we are called to teach.
Vision
of the Holy Cross Brothers
The
vision of the Brothers of Holy Cross is one of sacred unity living
the blessing of diversity. We are brothers. We belong
to a global community/family of ordained confreres, vowed sisters
and associates, gathered in local communities to live the Gospel
values. We are educators in the faith. We are
men with hope to bring.
The
guiding vision and charism of the Congregation of Holy Cross is
to witness church to the Church. The religious family
is modeled after the collegiality found among the first Christians:
each using his/her gift to the glory of God in community, prayer
and loving service to God’s people and proclaiming the Good News
of our Lord and brother, Jesus, the Christ.
