It is with great joy that we announce our brother, André Bessette, C.S.C., was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI on October 17, 2010. He is the first member of the Congregation of Holy Cross to reach sainthood.

An unassuming doorkeeper who became legendary for his ministry to the sick and poor, Saint André didn’t set out to be a healer. Yet, this "Miracle Man of Montreal" embraced God’s mission to bring hope to others, and every day tended to the needy who lined up at his door.
