Our Ministries

Educators in the Faith

The heart of our mission is to be Educators in the Faith, supporting the development of the whole person in mind, body, and spirit. In partnership with hundreds of lay colleagues, Holy Cross brothers and priests teach, mentor, and accompany young people and adults in settings where faith and learning meet daily life.

For many of us, ministry takes place in the classroom. For others, our work as Educators in the Faith unfolds in parishes, campus ministries, and social service agencies. In every ministry, we are committed to promoting social justice, reconciliation, and peace. As disciples of Jesus, we reach out in a preferential way to those who are poor, marginalized, or in need of hope.

Our mission can take us across borders of every sort. Today, members of the Congregation of Holy Cross live and serve together in the United States and in countries including Brazil, Chile, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. Wherever we minister, we are reminded that the farther we go in giving of ourselves, the more we stand to receive.

A Shared Mission

Holy Cross education is rooted in the vision of Blessed Basil Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, who believed that minds must be enlightened, hearts must be enkindled, and hands must be trained for service. Whether in a university lecture hall, a high school classroom, or a program serving families in need, we strive to bring hope to those we serve.
